I’m drawn to simple, familiar things — yet I try to see them as if for the first time.
I explore the tension between observation and memory — the point where familiar reality filters through personal perception. I’m drawn to simple, everyday subjects, but try to see them with renewed attention. Repetition plays as a method of observation: it helps me highlight what slips away but remains recognisable — like a form of memory.
Born in Russia, I’ve lived in Serbia and now work in Berlin. Moving between contexts has sharpened my sense of distance. I often feel myself both “subject” and observer — this duality lies at the core of my interest in identity.
My visual language is shaped by matte materials like gouache, tempera, pastel, and pencil. I avoid decorative shine and illusory depth, aiming instead for expressiveness through contrast, colour, and composition. Emotional precision is more important to me than surface effect.
